My First Time...

This is my first time...my first blog, and also contents each of my first baking experience. Join me and let's bake together. We'll have lots of lots of fun :)

Everything began with my hobby checking out all baking related websites (...your blogs might be included... :p) few years ago. I started to collect every recipes but never really put it in action though :p. Then it became kindda a routine since then.

Finally.... on March 18, 2007, tadaaa.... I made my first baking. I made Vania's Pizza Tartlet (v-recipes.blogspot). Horraayyy.... really not bad as a starter. It's really yummy (...as you said). Then the journey begins....followed by other recipes nearly every week (I'll post the recipes later on if you wanna try also...). But not every recipes turned out okay though, failling many times but the wise man said we shall not give up, right...? hehehe... so, Jia You!!! LET'S BAKE TOGETHER, okay..?
Pizza Tartlet
Pizza Sauce
1 tbsp Margarine
2 cloves Garlic
1 Onion
1 Green Capsicum, diced
450 g Tomato, put in boiled water, peeled and blended
1 tbsp Tomato paste
1/2 tsp Oregano
1/2 tsp Basil
1 tsp Sugar
1 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Black Pepper
150 g Minced beef
Heat margarine, toss garlic and onion untill soft and brown. Stir in capsicum. Stir for awhile and then pour in pured tomato, tomato paste, oregano, basil, sugar, salt and black pepper. Stir well and add in minced beef. Cook until thickenned. Set aside. You can also mixed in half of the mozzarella cheese and remaining for the topping.
Topping
Button mushroom, chopped and stir fried
Smoke beef, sliced small and stir fried
Mozzarella cheese
Pie Dough (Tart pastry)
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Sugar
1 cup (2 sticks) Unsalted butter, chilled and cut into small pieces
1/4 - 1/2 cup Ice water
1. In the bowl of a food processor, combine flour, salt and sugar. Add butter, and process until the mixture resembles coarse meal, 8 to 10 seconds. With machine running, add ice water in a slow, steady stream through feed tube. Pulse until dough holds together without being wet or sticky; becareful not to process more than 30 seconds. To test, squeeze a small amount together, if it is crumbly, add more ice water, 1 tbsp at a time. *
2. Divide dough into 2 equal balls. Flatten each ball into a disk, and wrap in plastic. Transfer to the refrigerator and chill at least 1 hour. Dough may be stored, frozen, up to 1 month.
* I don't have food processor, I processed manually. Put a bowl onto bigger bowl filled with ice and mixed with hand until the dough holds together and not stick to my hand. Remember not to overdo the dough though :)
Final Step
Roll the dough into thin enough and press it into small tart pans. Fill with pizza sauce and the toppings into each tartlets. Devide evenly the mozzarella cheese among all tartlets (I don't remember how many tartlets it can make, hm... around 15-18 tartlets). Put in the oven and bake with 180 C for 20-25 mins.
